COMMUNE - La nuit, les rues sont vides CS
$16.00
COMMUNE are a two piece from Brittany, France that craft vastly atmospheric and structured soundscapes with a variety of of instruments and hardware, resulting in haunting and rhythmic songs that flirt with industrial territory. Utilising the sound of the room they recorded in to tell their story, a verse from Millers Tropic Of Capricorn that has been left on their Bandcamp reveals the themes of self-isolation from a madness inducing urban sprawl. The more I listen to this the more I think about the feel of specific bands and projects from the New Zealand vacuum, particularly Fetus Productions second album ‘Environmental’, or even the synthesiser sounds of Omit. This is a full album that is well sequenced and rich in texture. It is self-released with a high attention to detail, including a screen printed onto acetate cover. Lots of character in this release.
