SPANISH MAGIC release from 2011. Two Paul Gough live performances from different centuries. First of all Pimmon in 2005, loops and dense psychedelic electronics, kinetic, glistening and acidic. The B as his mysterious Yclept Dinmakers in 1983. Absurdist and minimal, tape loops and collage, appropriating pop tunes, thinking into the future. Trippy as hell - both sides really, perhaps Pimmon being slightly less abrasive overall apart from the wind up, but has that ultraviolet glaze. Both sides sound 100% Australian. Humid, rhythmic, surreal and whimsical. One could really forget the things they are meant to do while these spools are spinning. Life can't always be serious, can't it?
